Midgate Station is a multigalactic interdimensional Spaceport located on the planet Tiorus Prime.
It is believed that Midgate Station was originally build as a interdimensional watchtower
Midgate has seen numerous owners over the centuries and the station has seen countless overhauls, remodels, and new construction.
Currently, Midgate Station is controlled by the former Earth based paramilitary group known as Cobra.
Cobra Commander has created a somewhat safe-haven with a ban on governmental extradition, stating that foreign militaries are not permitted to act within the confines of the station.
Midgate Station is a refuge and likewise has very loose rules to follow. Cobra's presence is to keep the peace, uphold the law, and of course, make profit.
Cobra only really cares about two main laws, no stealing and pay your dues. The Commander is considered a generous ruler by most of the population.
With control of the station, Cobra receives income on residency, landing pads, and fueling stations, leaving merchants and workers to keep all their earnings without paying taxes. This provides the residents and travelers alike to make as much or little as they wish.
Planet
The planet, Tiorus Prime, is located in the Mocati System.
Fifth in line from the sun, Tiorus Prime is a temperate forest planet with vast mountain ranges and large lakes covering its surface.
The Mocati System sits directly in the middle of three blackholes, carefully teetering on the gravitational pulls of all three equally. Due to the unique placement of Mocati, very little is known about the system's location and neighboring systems.
Defenses
Midgate Station can be found nestled underground within a large mountain range, providing ample protection from the natural elements of the planet.
The station has remote sentry cannons positioned on the surrounding mountain peaks and cliff sides, these outposts can be controlled from the security control room or switched to operate on an automated system, targeting anything moving without an access code.
The three blackholes prevent large ships from traveling to the system which greatly reduces any concerns for invasion or planetary assaults from orbit.
Power & Facilities
With an underground location, Midgate has access to three different power sources, all working in unison to provide consistent, uninterrupted energy to the thousands of residents that call Midgate home.
Thermal vents provide the station with all it's basic needs, from lights to computers, while underground rivers provide the water to the station and also fuel hydro-electric generators used as back-up power.
The core of the station is a Zero-Point Generator (ZPG). This is the source of the various portals that allow ease of travel to and from the station for individuals and vehicles alike, as well as powering both Stargates.
Residents
Tiorus Prime is inhabited by various species, some sentient and some are even close to Earth's prehistoric reptiles. This of course creates issues for planetary exploration, as these creatures can be incredibly dangerous.
Midgate Station provides shelter to any person or creature seeking refuge. The station has a vastly diverse demographic with humans tending to be the primary race found currently.
The numerous gateways and portals open to various galaxies, dimensions, and timelines, so the population is constantly changing.
The Cobra Expansion
The Cobra Expansion began on the planet Earth. The Nation of Cobra Island was under siege by foreign forces and the Commander ordered an evacuation thru the M.A.S.S. Portal. Due to a nearby explosion the portal surged as Cobra Forces passed thru, resulting in the arrival at Midgate Station.
Upon arrival, the station was offline and in disrepair from almost a century of being abandoned. The Commander quickly put his followers and troops to work on repairs and upgrades, quickly making Midgate Station an operational outpost and trade destination for anyone seeking refuge across the multiverse.
While most multiverse versions of Cobra still try to achieve their own goals, this version of Cobra is happily ruling a intergalactic, multidimensional spaceport, where everyone is welcome and no one can interfere.
